The Division Using Xbox One Cloud “On Our Agenda”, PC Version Not A Console Port

Technical director Anders Holmquist says the topic has come up for discussion.

With many of its big name games releasing next month, Ubisoft will be banking heavily on Tom Clancy’s The Division in 2015. This is especially so considering the hype for any massively multiplayer online FPS after the relatively disappointment surrounding Bungie’s Destiny.

GamingBolt recently had a chance to speak to technical director Anders Holmquist about the game’s Snowdrop Engine perhaps potentially using the Xbox One’s Cloud to improve gameplay or visual elements. Online games like Titanfall benefited from it so why not The Division?

Holmquist responded that, “This topic is on our agenda, but nothing is at a stage that we can talk about right now.”

As for the PC version of the game, Holmquist confirmed that it wouldn’t be a port of either the PS4 or Xbox One version. “Indeed the PC version is not a port so it gets just as much love as the consoles, and we will create a great experience on all platforms.”
