The Division Won’t Have Loading Screens, Off Limit Zones

If they can pull it off, the seamless transitions will be pretty nice.

The developer’s for Tom Clancy’s The Division have been talking an awful lot lately about how the online aspects of the game are going to work, both when you are playing by yourself, as well as PVP modes. We already knew that getting into a PvP match was so easy that the developers had warned people about jumping over the wrong fence because you’ll instantly find yourself smack dab in the middle of the dark zone and smack dab in the middle of a match.

NowUbisoft Massive’s Community Developer Hamish Bode has said that there won’t be any kind of loading screens in game at all. The massive open world is going to fully traversable and will allow you to get to one place or another without having to sit and wait as the game loads the new area. Instead of certain areas being gated and only accessible once you level up, those areas are just going to feature difficult gameplay that will make it well worth your time to get better gear before you enter an area.

Bode, talking to Pixel Vulture gave more details about just how the Darkness Zone is going to work in The Division saying, “So there is no loading screens, we are on a team doing our missions and collecting loot, then we enter the Darkness Zone. This is an PvP area where matchmaking all happens behind the scenes. You will be in a zone where you cannot tell who is nice who is going to cause problems. It’s all one seamless experience.”

Tom Clancy’s The Division will officially release on March 8, 2015.
