Bethesda have made it abundantly clear on a number of occasions in the recent past (and the not so recent past) that it’s going to be a while yet before we see The Elder Scrolls 6, what with them being busy on a few other major triple A releases (all of which also remain unannounced at this juncture). However, that doesn’t mean that they’ve forgotten about the franchise completely- of course they haven’t it’s a juggernaut for them. And it’s possible that internal production on The Elder Scrolls 6 is underway.
According to a new job listing on the official website of ZeniMax, who are the parent company of Bethesda and all their subsidiary studios, the studio behind The Elder Scrolls and Fallout is looking for a tools engineer to help work on and create “a AAA development environment”. The job listing talks about everything from cross-platform porting and automated testing to writing code and creating patching systems. So it seems to be a pretty vast, major role.
Of course, this by itself doesn’t necessarily point towards The Elder Scrolls 6 or any other game in particular, but it does signify that Bethesda are expanding and looking for more people to take on larger roles. Why? Possibly to broaden their scopes, to allow them to work on multiple major releases at the same time, which would obviously mean that they’re looking to ramp up development of the next game in the Elder Scrolls series.
Take this with a pinch of salt for now, but it’s interesting enough to keep any eye on. Stay tuned to GamingBolt and we will keep bringing continued updates your way.
