Bethesda have been reiterating for some time now that The Elder Scrolls 6 isn’t going to be a reality for a long time yet, and people don’t seem to get the hint. Which is understandable, of course- we always want more Elder Scrolls. However, Pete Hines of Bethesda recently took to Twitter to drive the point home once again.
Hines recently posted a tweet about the recently released Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, at which point a fan replied to him, telling him that what people really want from Bethesda is another Elder Scrolls game. Hines reverted to this fan promptly enough, telling him that Bethesda has made it clear in the past that it’s got two more projects that it is focusing on right now, and that The Elder Scrolls 6 is far from being a priority right now, telling him that “beating that dead horse does nothing”.
He was then asked by another fan if he could clarify the status on Bethesda’s upcoming releases for 2017, to which he replied by saying that DOOM on the Nintendo Switch was the publisher’s last release for the year. He clarified that his earlier comments regarding the same were about DOOM, and not an upcoming game made by the development team at Bethesda Games Studios.
So yeah, it’s been abundantly clear by this point that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still years away.
