The Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2: Bethesda Has No Plans For Developing Small Things

The team needs to reset, but is excited to see what's next.

While there hasn’t been any confirmation about the fact that Elder Scrolls 6 and Skyrim 2 is coming at all, but Bethesda is finally talking at least a little bit about its plans post Fallout 4. Needless to say, that game took quite a lot out of the developers, because it is such an expansive game and one that has such a cult following.

Fallout 4 Game Director Todd Howard recently talked to Wired about how he and his team are trying to reset after the release of the game and while he didn’t actually tease any information, he did at least give a look at what the execs at Bethesda are thinking when it comes to their upcoming titles. “The timing of your question, because we just wrapped up Fallout 4, I definitely need a break. But that’s normal. And after that, I just see so many things that we could do. I like to make big games, the team likes to make big games. We have lots of ideas. We plan on taking a break and coming back and finding out where those ideas take us. But no—we definitely don’t plan on making small things.”

Something like another Elder Scrolls or Skyrim certainly wouldn’t be small. On the other hand, the company just rolled out a new Elder Scrolls. It’s possible there will be another Skyrim, but if you look at the release schedule of something like Fallout 4. It took about seven years to get from Fallout 3 to Fallout 4. Considering that Skyrim released in 2011, it would seem as though Skyrim 2 will be seeing the light of day in 2018.
