The Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2: Introducing Fallout 4’s Settlements And Workshop Mechanics

Bethesda has already gotten the mechanic down.

While we don’t know for sure that Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2 is actually coming but it seems as though it would only make sense for Bethesda to make the game eventually. That’s why we’ve been talking over the last few months about what the game should have in it if it wants to be as good as it needs. Earlier we had  talked about the fact that the game would need to make the class specific powers and abilities stand out a bit better in this game.

We also think one way the game could get a leg up on its competition and make it that much better would be to incorporate the same kind of settlements and workshop mechanics that we found in Fallout 4. There is something really interesting about having a place to call home. There is also something to be said for making those settlements that much better as the game goes on. Of course, it wouldn’t be really hard for Bethesda to incorporate this mechanic into the game because they’ve already shown they know how to use it. This would literally just be about putting a new skin on something they’ve already perfected.

The possibilities in a world that unfolds like in Skyrim 2 or Elder Scrolls 6 would seemingly be even bigger than what you’re talking about in Fallout 4. While that world is one where there are few survivors left, Skyrim 2 and Elder Scrolls 6 are worlds that will still be quite full of people. That would make these settlements even more useful when it comes to growing the population or opening trade routes.

This article is part of our weekly series on Bethesda’s next big entry into the world of The Elder Scrolls. Through this series we take a look at the possible new features that Bethesda can add into the next The Elder Scrolls game, based on what they implemented in the previous entries and player feedback.
