The Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date Will Be 2017, Says Michael Pachter

We're not getting it for another ten years, are we?

It doesn’t matter how many times Pete Hines or Todd Howard deny it, it doesn’t look like most people are willing to give up on the hope of a new Elder Scrolls launching soon – as in next year soon – any time at all. Or ever.

However popular games analyst Michael Pachter, who, in an annual feature by GamesIndustry, where he and other analysts are invited to make predictions for the coming year, predicted that The Elder Scrolls 6 would launch in 2017. “The next Elder Scrolls installment comes out, the next Half Life installment does not. I think Bethesda is close, and think that Valve is not. However, I’d like to be half wrong on this one,” he said.

Unfortunately, I don’t think this is happening. Fallout 4 released in 2015, so even if all of Bethesda jumped into working on The Elder Scrolls 6 right away, two years is a very short development cycle for an open world AAA game- and especially short for Bethesda, who usually take 3-4 years per game on average. I don’t see this happening at all.
