The Elder Scrolls 6 Won’t Receive New Details for Years – Bethesda

Pete Hines says he'd be "failing to properly manage your expectations" if fans expected details now.

With the next generation of consoles on the horizon and even more announcements soon to come, to say nothing of Sony’s plans for the PS5. To that end, one has to wonder about The Elder Scrolls 6. Bethesda revealed that highly anticipated sequel at E3 2018 and we’ve gotten no closer to learning more about it. Aside from heavy hints about it releasing for next-gen consoles of course.

With Bethesda participating in the Summer Game Fest, is there more information on the sequel coming up? Sadly no, as per Bethesda’s VP of public relations and marketing Pete Hines. He reminded fans that it would be releasing after Starfield, Bethesda’s other big game that is also yet to receive any information.

“It’s after Starfield, which you pretty much know nothing about. So if you’re coming at me for details now and not years from now, I’m failing to properly manage your expectations,” said Hines.

At this rate, given the information on Starfield, it’s safe to say that it launches for the Xbox Series X and PS5. Then again, it’s possible that Bethesda could throw a curve-ball and release it this year as a cross-gen title. Either way, we’re several years off from The Elder Scrolls 6 so don’t get your hopes up.
