The Game Awards 2021 – Keighley Hypes World Premiere in the Works for 2.5 Years

Creator and host Geoff Keighley tweeted about seeing the "final cut" of said premiere and is "truly honored" to share it with the world.

The Game Awards 2021 is close, premiering next week and highlighting the very best that the industry had to offer this year. Moreover, it will feature several big announcements and world premieres with creator Geoff Keighley promising some 40 to 50 games. As is usually customary, some “really good surprises” are in store.

One such premiere has been in the works for two and a half years according to Keighley. In a recent tweet, he said that, “Just saw the final cut of a #thegameawards world premiere we have been working on with a developer for 2.5 years. Truly honored we are entrusted to share this work with the world.”

Though it seems like a long time ago, Keighley noted in a follow-up tweet that, “Summer of 2019 was actually my last global tour to visit developers. I always have so much fun visiting studios and hearing about their projects. Hope to do it again in 2022.” What games could have reportedly begun development in 2019 and not been revealed till now? One such title that comes to mind is the new BioShock, which is rumored to have been in development since 2017, and was noted to be in the “later stages of production” in job listing last year.

We’ll have to wait and see in the meantime. The Game Awards 2021 is set to premiere on December 9th at 5 PM PT so stay tuned.
