The Game Awards are almost upon us, and excitement surrounding them continues to amp up- not only do we get to find out which games will be honoured as the best of the year, we also get treated to various announcements of major new upcoming games. The Game Awards’ Facebook page has uploaded a new video talking about the process of deciding which games to premiere, and how to present them to the audiences, and in this video they’ve teased quite a lot of stuff.
There’s footage of a whiteboard that basically has the layout for every minute of the ceremony, and while the specific names of the games to be revealed have obviously not been mentioned, Geoff Keighley has confirmed in the video that this year will see more world premieres than any other year before. Currently, he says, the tally stands at twelve reveals, though he says the number go go up (or even down) as we get closer to the awards show.
The Game Awards have been a major event for announcing new games or showing new footage for some time now. Games such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Death Stranding, and Mass Effect: Andromeda have all had a major presence at the show in the past few years, and as such, we’re expecting some big stuff from this year’s show as well. In fact, we believe there’s every chance we might get a deeper glimpse at Death Stranding once again.
