Death Stranding: Just Where Is Hideo Kojima’s Next Big Game?

It''s been almost a year and we haven't seen nothing from Kojima's next big game.

Death Stranding was announced more than a year ago, at E3 2016 (and was last shown almost a year ago at the VGA), but even such a long time after its announcement, we still don’t know when the game will be out. Kojima Productions hasn’t announced even a release window for the title, so when it launches exactly is anyone’s best guess. It doesn’t, however, seem likely that it will launch anytime before early 2019- and even that might be a hopeful estimate.

That doesn’t mean we haven’t heard anything of the game at all, though. Recently, Kojima posted a few images and tiny updates on Twitter, and thanks to these we know two things. The first thing we know that he’s currently in the middle of developing the script for the game, and the second thing we know is that he might possibly be working on a trailer as well.

It’s pretty clear, then, that the game is in full production. With that in mind, just when will we hear or see more about it? If we’re to assume that Kojima is indeed working on a new trailer (and it does look like he is), that might be sooner than you’d think. It was never likely that either Sony or Kojima would debut a trailer or gameplay footage for Death Stranding at last week’s Paris Games Week- it was too soon, probably- but it does look like we’ll have a new trailer before the year is out.

There are two major events coming up in December, namely the VGAs and PSX, and it’s pretty safe to assume that Death Stranding will be a major presence at at least one 0f these two events. Whether that actually happens, though, is still up in the air, especially considering the fact that this is still Kojima we’re talking about- but one can always hope, right?
