We’ll avoid spoilers, since you really need to play the game for yourself, but the ending that is now in place for the game saw Joel get the better of his attackers. However, the ending itself was meant to be more of a parentheses than a period on the adventure of Joel and Ellie. And while it has been discussed and critiqued enough, there’s no denying that Naughty Dog nailed the emotion inherent.
