The Outer Worlds 2 Showcases Bizarre Weapons, Third-Person Gameplay in New Trailer

From two-handed pizza cutters and hammers to corrosive devices and wrist-mounted launchers, there's plenty of bang for your buck.

Amid Microsoft deploying “comedic” trailers and plushies for The Outer Worlds 2, new gameplay for Obsidian’s RPG debuted during IGN Fan Fest. It’s fairly unfocused, showcasing snippets of action, including some new weapons, all set to some classy old-timey music for that Fallout feel.

A few notable armaments include a corrosive spraying device, which is perfect for dissolving corpses and a wrist-mounted launcher which unleashes fireworks. There’s also a two-handed pizza cutter-like melee weapon and a massive hammer. Some shots also showcase Valerie, one of the six new companions, providing fire support.

If that wasn’t enough, the trailer offers brief looks at third-person gameplay. It’s nothing too crazy, but the perspective appears solid enough, especially since Obsidian hadn’t initially planned to include it.

The Outer Worlds 2 launches on October 29th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, and will also be available on Game Pass. Those on Xbox and PC can now pre-load the title ahead of launch.
