The Outer Worlds Switch Version Delayed Due To Coronavirus Outbreak

The delay will allow the physical version to be on a cart.

Last year’s fun sci-fi RPG romp is something you’ll be able to take on the go when the Switch version launches later this year. We haven’t seen a whole lot of that version, outside few screenshots which you can look at here. And unfortunately, it seems we won’t be seeing much soon as the port has been pushed back due to the global outbreak of coronavirus.

As announced via publisher Private Division’s official Twitter page, they made the abrupt announcement that the developer handling the port job, Virtuos, has their offices closed in Singapore, and they need more time to finish. They clarify that the team is okay, so most likely they are closed for precautionary quarantine. As a bit of good news, they do confirm the game’s physical edition will come with the game on cart now.

The Outer Worlds is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The Switch version, as of now, has no time frame. The game does also have DLC due out this year, though nothing official has been stated about it as of now.
