The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developers, CD Projekt RED are rumored to be in the midst of a hostile take over. While the company hasn’t talked about those rumors yet, someone noticed there was a rather interesting meeting being planned at CD Projekt RED’s headquarters.
The meeting schedule has been posted on Neogaf and those who understand that sort of thing have said what’s on the docket definitely points to a fight brewing. According to the summary, there are three issues the Witcher 3 devs are going to ask for a vote on.
- Vote on whether or not to allow the company to buy back part of its own shares for 250 million PLN ($64 million)
- Vote on whether to merge CD Projekt Brands (fully owned subsidiary that holds trademarks to the Witcher and Cyberpunk games) into the holding company
- Vote on the change of the company’s statute.
This fight comes in the middle of a dev cycle for CD Projekt RED as they continue work on their next game, called Cyberpunk 2077. That project is demanding more developers than they’ve ever used on one game.
