The Witcher 3 Hits All-Time Peak Player Count On Steam

Plenty of coins being tossed.

The Witcher 3 is seeing a massive spike in popularity nearly five years after launch, thanks to Netflix’s recently released The Witcher TV series. Right after the show came out, CD Projekt RED’s open world RPG saw spike in its player count on Steam, and just yesterday, that number had almost touched the game’s highest ever player count. Now, it’s successfully crossed that number.

The Witcher 3’s previous peak concurrent player count on Steam was 92,268, which happened at launch. Now, as per Steam and Steam Charts, as of just few hours ago, that number stands at 94,601. The game’s last significant player count spike came in June 2016, right when the Blood and Wine expansion came out. To see such a massive surge in the game’s player count so long after its launch is truly surprising.

The Witcher 3 is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. On Xbox One, it’s also available on Game Pass.
