Impossibly enough, The Witcher 3 is coming to the Nintendo Switch soon (albeit with some not-so-surprising concessions). But though the port was announced by Nintendo back at E3, we haven’t really heard much else about it since then- especially not when exactly it will be launching.
The ESRB, though, have handed The Witcher 3 for the Switch an age rating. What’s important here isn’t what age rating the game received (it’s M, of course), but that it has received one, which would, in ordinary circumstances, mean that a release for the game is close. Seeing as we haven’t even had an announcement for the release date yet, there’s a chance that we might be getting a release date announcement soon.
This doesn’t necessarily have to mean that an announcement is coming in soon, but it’s worth noting that Nintendo have confirmed they’ll be showing new gameplay and releasing new details for The Witcher 3 at Gamescom later this month– so it very well might. Recently, retailer listing suggested that the game would be out in September.
CD Projekt RED are saying that they are making no cuts to The Witcher 3 on the Switch, and that the port will offer the full experience. Take look at some screenshots to see how it’s looking.
