The Witcher 3 Runs At 60fps at Ultra Settings on GTX980

That's a ringing endorsement for the card if there ever was one.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt promises to be a graphical beast when it launches later this year, on all platforms that it will be hitting, but it will be on PC that its stunning visual technology will really get a chance to shine. And, it appears, it really will be something on PC- assuming you have a rig powerful enough, that is.

For instance, you can run the game on Ultra settings, at 60 FPS with no slowdown, if you have a GTX980. Of course, just your card won’t matter- Gamestar, which was the first outlet to break this news after experimenting with a slew of PC configurations, used an Intel i7-4790 with 16GB of RAM.

But this is certainly some good news, and assuming you did invest in a beastly rig, it will pay off with this game. For Nvidia, this probably comes as some endorsement for their GTX 900 series of cards after their troubled launches amidst controversy about misadvertising.

Even if you don’t have a supercomputer, however, you don’t need to worry- the game looks great anyway, so you’re bound to be in for a visual treat no matter what.
