The Witcher 3 Sees Steam Player Hike After Witcher Netflix Series

The RPG sees the most concurrent players since 2016.

The Witcher has been very good to CD Projekt RED. The series has always been a successful one, even when it was confined to the PC only realm, but The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt really took it to another level. It prompted CDPR to renew the license and for Netflix to pursue a TV show based on the property. The latter of which has shined even more light on the latest entry in the game series.

Shortly after The Witcher premiered on Netflix, the game saw a pretty big bump via Steam. According to Playtracker, the game hit 48,000 concurrent players on the service. This is the largest amount of concurrent player base since the Summer of 2016. Considering that’s also only on Steam, there’s no telling how many more people have returned via other PC clients as well as consoles.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. The first season of The Witcher on Netflix is live now.
