The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Could Last Over 200 Hours

Quality and quantity?

We already know The Witcher 3: Wild hunt is going to be massive and staggeringly ambitious- in fact, that is one of the reasons the game has been delayed so many times (seriously, it’s been delayed far too many times, I’m not so sure I’m even all that hyped for it any more).

But what does that translate to in real world game time? Well, according to the developers, it could mean well over 200 hours of gameplay.

‘Hard to say,’ said developer Damien Monnier on Twitter in response to a fan’s question about just how long the game might last. ‘If you do everything, I’d say 200+ hours.’

That is, of course, a lot of content, but as with any other game, this number needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. We have heard a lot of developers make claims about their world size and game length in recent years- Batman: Arkham Knight, The Legend of Zelda, Dragon Age: Inquisition, No Man’s Sky, Metal gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and of course, The Witcher 3. What we never know in any of these cases is just how worthwhile any of this content will be.

Take Dragon Age: Inquisition, for instance. While it’s a great game, it suffers from banal sidequests and a massive world map that amounts to nothing. Whether The Witcher 3 is more Skyrim than Inqusition remains to be seen.
