The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is hitting consoles and PCs starting tomorrow and has been the case with most of the AAA titles released in the last few years it will be bringing some rather large day one updates with it. The size of the day one updates will depend on your console and just what those patches do are also dependent on whether you are using a PS4 or Xbox One.
The patch notes for the PS4are listed below. The Xbox One patch meanwhile deals more with bringing better graphical standards to the game for that console. The patch brings support for dynamic resolution scaling as well as alternating the resolution between 900p and 1080p in response to the game’s demands. This isn’t brought up in the PS4 patch because tge Wild Hunt will run at a native 1080p on the PS4 throughout its run.
With what the day one patches are supposed to do out on the web, some people have already found a problem or two. Among those issues are a negative impact on shadows, as well as texture filtering and real problems with the playback of pre-rendered cutscenes. Hopefully none of these issues will be judged as “game killers.”
