The Wolf Among Us 2 is Not Cancelled, Says Telltale

"Development on The Wolf Among Us 2 continues," said the studio. It's looking to share more with fans "when the time is right."

Despite a recent report on Reddit claiming otherwise, Telltale Games has confirmed that The Wolf Among Us 2 is still in the works.

The developer’s PR told Eurogamer, “As a rule, we don’t comment on rumours and unsubstantiated Reddit threads. But development on The Wolf Among Us 2 continues, and we’re excited to share more about the game with Telltale fans and our community when the time is right.”

The report cited a source stating that the project was at “a critical point” and that Telltale may have “no choice but to shelve it.” It also claimed a “lot of pressure from within the company to keep things quiet while they try to figure out how to move forward, but the situation looks grim.” The author has since deleted the report and their account.

Of course, the project has seen its fair share of development troubles, even after its re-announcement in 2019. Development was revealed to have been restarted from scratch, and there have been multiple delays in the years following. It switched to Unreal Engine 5 last year, but former cinematic director Jonah Huang confirmed extensive layoffs in September 2023.

Though Telltale couldn’t provide “big update” in April, the narrative adventure is still officially slated to launch this year for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC. Stay tuned for updates whenever they arrive, and check out the latest images here.
