Ever since reviving the name THQ, the company known now as THQ Nordic has been making a lot of moves. It’s mostly been in the midrange budget level with revivals of IPs from previous generations. They are part of Koch Media, which in part is a subsidiary of a much larger company, Embracer Group. In a short time, they have grown significantly, and I do mean significantly here.
As reported by Gamesindustry based on the company’s financial results, it was revealed that the company now owns staggering 26 studios. The latest high profile purchases were Saber Interactive and Voxler. And that’s not all, they announced that more studios are on the way with two studios that have not yet been officially revealed.
While this encompasses more than THQ Nordic (Embracer also owns publishers Deep Silver and Coffee Stain, for instance), THQ is the most active agent under the company, forming their own subsidiaries and studios.
