Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Has Paid Upgrades for Previous to Current Gen Console Versions

The current-gen versions support 4K and +60 FPS along with cross-gen saves. Cross-platform multiplayer is also confirmed but only for Xbox.

Along with dropping the first gameplay trailer for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Gearbox Software and 2K Games also detailed its various editions and pre-order bonuses. One of those editions is the Next-Level Edition which is fully optimized for Xbox Series X/S and PS5, and costs $70. While the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are playable on current-gen consoles, they won’t be optimized for the same.

Furthermore, if you want to upgrade from the PS4 and Xbox One versions to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S respectively, you can do so for an “additional cost.” As 2K Games notes, “A PS4 game disc of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Standard Edition can be upgraded to a digital PS5 copy (which has been optimized for PS5) for an additional cost; this requires the PS4 disc to be inserted into a PS5 with a disc drive.” The Chaotic Great Edition, which costs $90, includes a digital copy of the current-gen version for those who purchase it on previous gen, making it the “Dual Entitlement” version.

A quick peek at the Next-Level Edition’s Microsoft Store listing confirms cross-gen and cross-platform multiplayer for Xbox platforms (with the Xbox Series X version supporting HDR10, 4K, +60 FPS and Xbox cloud saves). However, there’s no mention of Smart Delivery. Transferring saves from the PS4 to PS5 version is possible but can’t be reversed.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is out on March 25th 2022 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC.
