Tomb Raider Composer is BAFTA Winner Jason Graves

The man is most famous for his work on the Dead Space franchise.


In the third episode of The Final Hours of Tomb Raider, Crystal Dynamics revealed that Jason Graves was the composer for the game’s original score. Having an extensive industry experience that includes F.3.A.R., Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones and much, much more, Graves is best known for his work on Visceral Games’ Dead Space franchise.

He in fact received an award from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for Best Original Score and Use of Audio in Dead Space.

Here, host Zachary Levi speaks to Graves about his vision for the game’s soundtrack. Graves speaks about infusing atmosphere, emotion and authenticity into the origins story through his musical score. Perhaps most amzingly, in order to find the perfect sound for the game, GRaves has collaborated with sculptor Matt McConnel who created a new original instrument to help Graves.

Tomb Raider is currently scheduled a March 5th 2013 release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Check out Graves in The Final Hours below.
