Microsoft’s backward compatibility initiative for the Xbox One, which makes Xbox 360 and original Xbox games playable on the newest console, often even with significant enhancements in terms of graphics and performance, has been an excellent initiative from the company. Now, two more games have been added to the catalog- Tomb Raider Legend, and Tomb Raider Anniversary, two of the more recent games in the franchise before it was rebooted in 2013 in its current style.
Tomb Raider Anniversary was actually a remake of the original game using the same engine that was used in Tomb Raider Legend, which in its turn was the first game in the franchise to hit Xbox 360. As such, they represent the last instances of the classic Tomb Raider formula before it was rebooted into its current incarnation.
I am sure many long time fans will be overjoyed at the opportunity to play through these again, especially ahead of next month’s upcoming launch of Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
