Following the recent announcement that E3 2020 has been cancelled due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, companies that had been planning on attending the event are expected to make statements regarding any alternative plans they have in its place. Microsoft has already announced that it will hold digital event dedicated to the Xbox Series X, and it seems Ubisoft will also be going down that road.
Taking to Twitter, the publisher shared a statement regarding E3’s cancellation, stating that while they’re disappointed, they fully support the ESA’s decision. At the end of the statement, Ubisoft also said that it is “exploring other options for a digital experience that will allow us to share all the exciting news we have planned,” before asking fans to stay tuned for more details on the same. You can see their statement below.
Other major publishers are very likely going to do something similar. It’s come to light that WB Games had big plans for the show, while Bethesda, too, were planning on sharing details on some of their major upcoming releases, so it’s likely that they’ll be making similar announcements soon as well. Stay tuned for more updates.
