Modern Warfare 3 had been dominating the UK sales charts for the last 4 weeks, but Bethesda’s massively successful RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim managed to dethrone the shooter king from its top spot. At the end of 2009 and 2010, it’s predecessor Modern Warfare 2 dominated the sales charts for over one week. Skyrim, however, prevented that from happening this year. Dovahkiin FTW.
The game had a heavy discount on itself, so maybe that’s the reason that it saw a massive sales spike. It saw a rise of 145% in sales compared to how much it sold last week.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Uncharted 3 and Mario Kart 7 were also in the list, at 5, 9 and 10 respectively. Battlefield 3 and FIFA 12, both EA titles, also performed strongly at 6 and 4.
Just Dance 3 at 3, Professor Layton and the Last Specter at 7 and Saints Row: The Third at 8 round off the top 10.
Here’s the top 10 for the week ending December 10:
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
- Modern Warfare 3
- Just Dance 3
- FIFA 12
- Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
- Battlefield 3
- Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call
- Saints Row: The Third
- Uncharted 3
- Martio Kart 7
