PlayStation Productions has plenty of irons in the fire with several adaptations of popular PlayStation franchises, including a The Last of Us HBO series, a Twisted Metal TV series, a Ghost of Tsushima film, and more. Coming up first before all of that, though, is the long-in-the-making Uncharted film, the debut trailer for which has finally been revealed.
The Uncharted film was previously confirmed as a prequel, starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg as younger versions of Nathan Drake and Victory “Sully” Sullivan respectively. The trailer, however, shows adaptations of several scenes from the games- Uncharted 3 and Uncharted 4 in particular, including the plane crash from the former. You can check out the full trailer below.
A blog post about the movie has also gone up on Naughty Dog’s website, in which director Ruben Fleischer says that the movie has been made to appeal to “both hardcore fans of the game and those who are not yet familiar with the franchise” and that both “both will be equally entertained by this incredibly fun and action-packed film.”
The Uncharted film has been given a release date of February 18, 2022, when it will release in theaters worldwide.
