Shortly after having announced that Vampire Survivors will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch along with a 4-player local co-op mode, developer poncle has revealed that the local co-op mode will also be coming to other versions of the game in a free update on August 17.
The studio has released a trailer for the co-op mode update, showing off under a minute of gameplay featuring more players. The game has traditionally been single-player, but the free update for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Android, and iOS will bring local co-op to the game.
Vampire Survivors will also be launching on the Nintendo Switch on the same day as the update, with gameplay from the Switch release being shown off in a trailer during the recent Nintendo Direct. The game’s two DLCs—Legacy of the Moonspell and Tides of the Foscari—will also be available to purchase on the Nintendo eShop, according to an FAQ by poncle.
The game is also getting adapted into an animated series helmed by studio Story Kitchen. The adaptation will make use of the story in Vampire Survivors which, while minimalistically told, is done so through the use of hero and item descriptions.
