After Game Pass references were spotted for Square Enix’s Visions of Mana on the Xbox website, Microsoft has officially confirmed that the action RPG is not coming to the subscription service. A spokesperson told Eurogamer it’s aware of “language that indicated Visions of Mana was coming to Xbox Game Pass” and confirms “this was an error.”
“While we are always updating the library and looking for new ways to provide members with value and choice, we do not have plans to bring Visions of Mana to Game Pass at this time.”
Visions of Mana was announced at The Game Awards in December 2023. However, it received a surprise showcase at the Xbox Developer_Direct ’24 earlier this month, where the developer talked about the series and showcased Pikul, an adorable mount. The title’s appearance at the Direct led some to believe it could arrive on Game Pass (with a potential announcement happening later).
It’s not the case, but as Microsoft notes, there are no plans “at this time.” That could always change down the line, so stay tuned for updates.
Visions of Mana is out this Summer for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4 and PC. Players assume the role of a Soul Guard named Val and must accompany their childhood friend to the Mana Tree. Along with utilizing Elementals for attacks, there’s also aerial combat. Fans of the series’ music can also look forward to over 100 tracks.
