Chucklefish’s Wargroove released on February 1st, and has already garnered many positive impressions. The Advance Wars-inspired turn-based strategy game was appreciated for its characters, charm, and combat, even if the factions were little too same-y. In a recent update, the developer has revealed its post-launch plans for the game with a patch that’s currently in the approval process.
That patch will fix spectating in online Fog of War maps, while other quality of life issues will be addressed in further updates. This includes having fast map movement on always, skipping battle scenes quicker, and so on. However, Chucklefish is also looking to add “a larger content update” along with DLC.
Wargroove launched with a robust editor that allows players to create their own maps, missions, and cutscenes. There shouldn’t be an immediate want for more content, but the developer’s on-going support is good news all the same. Chucklefish also confirmed that Wargroove’s sales have covered the cost of development already.
Wargroove is currently available for Xbox One, PC ,and Nintendo Switch with the PS4 version arriving later. It features cross-play support for all platforms except PS4 at this time.
