Wasteland 3 is coming later this year with a promise to bring you a bit of that old school RPG action, with its isometric viewpoint, extensive dialogue options, and strategic gameplay. It seems inXile also want you to replay this bad boy a lot, and I do mean a lot, as it will feature a multitude of endings.
In an interview with PCGamesN, lead level designer Jeremy Kopman talked about the amount of endings the title will see. Apparently, they are going to throw a rather staggering 10 “major” endings at you. While Kopman doesn’t go into details about them, he says the game will be constantly tracking your choices, as well as how the narrative’s many factions see you.
“We’ve done the back of the envelope maths, and we have at least ten major ending points,” Kopman said. “And then there’s tonnes of smaller choices that impact little permutations of the ending that ripple out through various characters. We also are tracking what different factions think of you, so how much The Patriarch’s security force The Marshals like you affects choices that you can make much later in the game.”
That’s quite a lot to take in, so it’ll be interesting to see what kind of variation all of these endings will have. Wasteland 3 is slated to launch May 19th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and is currently in closed beta.
