InXile’s massive RPG Wasteland 3 is still a few months off from release but Fig backers will have a chance to play some early. The developer has announced that the beta for Wasteland 3 will be going live on March 17th, 9 AM PDT. It includes the opening few hours of the game, namely the first areas and character creations.

Along with certain areas being inaccessible, players won’t have access to the world map. Even the intro cinematic is still not finalized. Backers who took part in the alpha will immediately update to the beta next week. For those who haven’t received beta keys, these should arrive shortly after it goes live on Steam.

Wasteland 3 releases on May 19th for Xbox One, PC, and PS4, and will also be available on Xbox Game Pass. It’s a pretty long game with inXile estimating over 50 hours of gameplay. For more details on the tactical combat, check out the trailer here. Stay tuned for more details on the beta in the coming week.
