Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs may be suffering from its fair share of bugs and problems – including the return of restrictive DRM via UPlay – but it’s been a roaring success for Ubisoft. On the UbiBlog, the publisher reported that Watch Dogs had set a new record for day one sales in the company’s history.
This means that the game’s day one sales managed to outsell that of Assassin’s Creed, which itself has been seeing phenomenal sales records for Ubisoft. Concrete sales figures have yet to be revealed by the publisher though so we’ll need to wait and see how they stack up to other properties like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Call of Duty.
Watch Dogs is currently available on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. It follows the story of Aiden Pearce as he seeks revenge on those who took his niece’s life. He does this by taking control of Chicago’s ctOS and hacking it to his advantage. Let us know what you think of the game’s success in the comments below.
