The existence of Half Life 3 has been a complete mystery so far. We reported not too long ago why Valve may never release Half Life 3 but again they never explicitly confirmed it. Valve has been one of the biggest supporters of VR technology Oculus Rift and it was only early last year that they announced its support for Half Life 2. This obviously begs the question: Will Half Life 3 Support Oculus Rift?
According to a report by Michael Abrash, who is part of the team working on virtual reality at Valve, a consumer level VR product will launch in 2015. “A great VR system at a consumer price in 2015 is more than just possible – it’s sitting there waiting to happen. And it will happen, if not in 2015, then soon after,” he states.
Given the amount of trust that Valve has in VR and Oculus Rift, it only makes sense Half Life 3, whenever it launches, will have some some kind of support for this emerging technology.
