One of the earliest games announced and released for Nintendo’s 3DS was Resident Evil: Revelations. It was a stunning looking game, a testament to the power of the handheld which is so often overlooked, and essentially a console quality game in your pocket. Capcom certainly thought so too, as they proceeded to port it to PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U last year.
Resident Evil: Revelations was also the best Resident title that had been released in ages- possibly since the seminal Resident Evil 4 back in 2005 on the Gamecube. So of course Capcom, being Capcom, would want to capitalize on that. And sure enough, Xbox.com has leaked what looks like Resident Evil Revelations 2- n0t just the name, but also the boxart and the screenshot. And since this is not a retailer listing or any such thing, we know this isn’t a mistake, and that this game almost certainly exists, and is probably coming.
What else do we know about this game? Well, we know it will be coming to the Xbox 360, which means it is at least cross gen, if not just reserved for last gen consoles throughout. It will probably also be coming to the PlayStation 3, although whether or not it is headed to any of the current consoles- PS4, Xbox One, Wii U- or Nintendo’s handheld, 3DS, where it all started- is currently unknown.
We’ll keep you posted though.
