Xbox One Captured Clips Can Only Shared Through Xbox Live at Launch

YouTube and Facebook options to appear "by next year".

Speaking to Destructoid, Microsoft’s Albert Penello stated that the Xbox One’s DVR abilities, which allow you to capture footage of the game you’re playing, will only be shared through Xbox Live when the console launches this November.

Penello stated that while you won’t be able to share videos beyond the console’s online service at launch, he stated that the company is looking to add Facebook and YouTube sharing “by next year”. It was also revealed that the video capture is quick and instantaneous with a 30 second, 720p clip being saved quickly. You can also voice commands via Kinect to record and save videos.

While we don’t know what to say in regards to the limited video sharing, especially since the amount of implementation and integration with YouTube and Facebook that was touted with the Xbox 360 could arrive sooner than later. But with the PS4 featuring video capture using HDMI for 1080p, 60 frames per second clips, does the Xbox One measure up? We’ll come to know when the console launches on November 22nd worldwide.
