Xbox One Gets New Xbox 360 Games Added To The Backwards Compatibility List

Another dozen Xbox 360 games now playable on the Xbox One.

Microsoft continues to bolster the lineup of Xbox 360 games that are playable on the Xbox One, thanks to their backwards compatibility initiative- over 100 games are playable on the system, and more continue to be added periodically.

Today, Microsoft has added another dozen games to the backwards compatibility list on the Xbox One- pretty much all of these are Xbox Live Arcade games, so a lot of you may not necessarily see much value in them, but the crown jewel of this batch is The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings– the excellent Xbox 360 version of CD Projekt RED’s second entry in the Witcher saga can now be played on the Xbox One, allowing many the chance to play through more of Geralt’s adventures. Not only that, but The Witcher 2 is also being offered for absolutely free to all Xbox users, until February 5- this isn’t an Xbox Live Gold promotion or anything, and there are no strings attached. You get the game for free, just like that. That’s really an awesome goodwill gesture, right there.
