Xbox One To Support Eight Person Party Chat At Launch

“At launch, up to eight people will be able to join a Party Chat at a time on Xbox One."

In response to yesterday’s announcement that the PlayStation 4 will support party chat for up to 8 users, Microsoft has confirmed that they will be following suit with the Xbox One. This reflects the current status of the Xbox 360, said a Microsoft spokesperson.

“At launch, up to eight people will be able to join a Party Chat at a time on Xbox One.”

Now that the launch is less than one month away, it seems that we can expect small updates of this nature to surface with increasing frequency. It seems that as of now Microsoft has no plans to increase party size. At least, they’ve made no comments to indicate as much. Sony on the other hand has made exception to the eight-person party support, with support for games like Battlefield 4 going up to as high as 64.

As updates continue to break, we can continuously get a better feel for which side has the competitive edge in the console war. Stay tuned to gamingbolt to get all of the inside details.
