Even though E3 isn’t returning this year, mid-June is once again going to be marked by major announcements being made by companies all over the industries. Microsoft is going to do that with its own E3-style showcase once again, with the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase set for June 12– though there’s a good chance that the company will have even more to show off in the months following that.
Gamescom, for instance, will be returning this year, with a hybrid physical and digital event set for late August, and it seems Microsoft will have a presence at that show as well. During a recent episode of the Xbox Two podcast, journalist Jez Corden said that based on what he’s heard, Xbox “might” be at Gamescom as well and will have “some sort of a presence”.
That, of course, could mean any number of things, and Xbox having a presence at Gamescom isn’t the most uncommon thing in the world (far from it, in fact). That said, if we’re to presume that the showcase next month is going to be packed full of announcements and updates, it’s possible, as Corden mentions, that some stuff is being saved for Gamescom as well.
Gamescom 2022 is set for August 24-28, which means information on the event will begin coming through in a few weeks from now, so one way or another, we’ll know for sure soon enough. Stay tuned until then for more details.
