Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will soon be five years old, but the flight combat game has continued to sell at a steady pace in that time. Bandai Namco has announced that the game has now sold over 5 million units worldwide, up from 4 million units almost exactly a year ago, indicating consistent sales for the title.
Currently, a new Ace Combat title is in the works, as confirmed by Bandai Namco in August of 2021, though details on the game remain scant, though it was previously confirmed that it was being built on Unreal Engine 5. In July last year, Bandai Namco also announced that it had established Bandai Namco Aces with Ace Combat 8’s lead developer ILCA for the future development of the franchise.
