The development team over at BioWare, currently working on Anthem, has been pretty transparent in terms of answering fans’ questions for plenty of time. Just recently, new details on things such as level caps, new game +, and the endgame have emerged as a result of this.
Now, executive producer Mark Darrah has once again taken to Twitter to answer plenty of queries from fans, and has revealed several new details on the game. For starters, Darrah confirms that Strongholds in the game will not act as campaign missions, but more as extra activities, which he describes as “high difficulty experiences”.
In another tweet, Darrah also confirmed that campaign missions will be playable solo. But while that is the case, they’re obviously designed for four players- each server will host a total of four players, and if you are tackling missions with three team members, they’ll be easier than if you were tackling them alone, or with fewer players (though adjustments will be made to the difficulty nonetheless).
Darrah confirmed a few other details as well. Players will be able to make multiple Freelancers (characters, basically) per a single copy of the game, while matchmaking is also included, so if you don’t have friends to play with, you can always play with strangers online. Story missions, meanwhile, are going to be “relatively linear”, according to Darrah, through free play is going to be “wide open”.
Anthem launches on February 22 next year for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Besides what we’ve already mentioned at the top of the post, new details about Javelin suit customization and the game’s world map were also recently revealed, so be sure to check them out.
