With the promise of a smaller, more concise experience that sheds the RPG excesses and unnecessary bloat of its immediate predecessors, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has certainly sounded like an exciting prospect on paper, but with the only look we’ve had at it so far being its CG announcement trailer last year, there’s been plenty of skepticism about how it will shape up as well.
At the recent PlayStation Showcase, however, Ubisoft finally lifted the lid on the action-adventure title with a long-overdue gameplay trailer. In addition to planting seeds for the story, which will see young Hidden One Basim serving as its protagonist, the trailer also offers plenty of glimpses of the game’s setting on Baghdad, while also showing off its greater emphasis on parkour mechanics, stealth-based gameplay, and the different ways players will be able to approach situations. Check it out below.
Meanwhile, a release date for the game has also been confirmed. True to a number of recent leaks, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 12.
