Baldur’s Gate 3 Support Won’t End with Patch 7, Cross-play and Photo Mode Still Coming

Larian Studios is also working on "gameplay tweaks, quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes and performance optimizations."

Larian Studios has previously said that Patch 7 will be the last big update for Baldur’s Gate 3. Given the amount of content and improvements offered, it makes sense. However, its latest Steam Community post revealed this won’t be the acclaimed RPG’s final hurrah.

Larian has a “few things up our sleeve” for the future, including cross-play and a Photo Mode. It’s also working on quality-of-life improvements, performance optimization, tweaks to the gameplay and more. There isn’t an ETA on all this, which is understandable since the developer is likely focused on getting Patch 7 out the door.

As for the next patch, it’s out in September and adds the official modding toolkit for players to edit or create weapons, Races, classes, subclasses, cosmetics and more. New cutscenes for evil playthroughs, including endings, are also coming alongside dynamic split-screen, additional Legendary Actions for Honour Mode enemies, and various improvements for Origin characters.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our reviews of the PC and PS5 versions.
