Baldur’s Gate 3 has been basking in critical and commercial success since its early access launch in 2020, and developer Larian Studios has been releasing major new updates for the RPG at regular intervals as it works towards its eventual full launch. With update 6 having launched over three months ago, players have been wondering when the next update will arrive- and it seems that might happen soon.
As recently spotted and translated by a Reddit user, Larian Studios recently posted via their official account on Chinese social media site Bilibili that Baldur’s Gate 3 will receive new update in February, along with “more surprises” down the road. It has, of course, been some time since the previous patch, which similarly launched about three months after update 5 did, so the timeline here certainly fits. What the nature of this new update will be though and exactly how substantial it will end up being remains to be seen.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently available in early access on PC and Stadia. As for when exactly it will launch in full, that remains to be seen. Less than a year ago, Larian said that the game still required “quite some work” before coming out of early access, before stating some time later that while the studio was targeting full launch in 2022, there were “no guarantees”- read more on that through here.
