EA and DICE recently announced Battlefield 2042, but following its cinematic announcement trailer, we’ve now got our first look at its gameplay as well. During the Xbox and Bethesda E3 Showcase, we got to look an extended look at Battlefield 2042’s maps, its dynamic weather like sandstorms, some high-octane vehicular combat, and more. Take a look below.
EA and DICE have confirmed that Battlefield 2042 is going to be purely multiplayer game, with the single player campaign being dropped for this year’s entry. On PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, it will support up to 128 players per match, while on PS4 and Xbox One, map sizes will be reduced and the player capped will be halved at 64. That said, the game is also going to be costlier on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Battlefield 2042 is out on October 22. A technical playtest is coming in July, and beta will follow afterward. Meanwhile, EA will also be talking about an undisclosed multiplayer mode at EA Play Live on July 22.
