Battlefield 5 Datamining Leaks Tutorial Mode, New Maps

Battlefield 5 data has been a goldmine of late.

Data miners are the absolute bane of all those working at game developers and publishers who want to keep things secret. With Battlefield 5 specifically, things such as elite soldier skins and new weapons and Tides of War challenges have been leaked in recent days thanks to datamining efforts, and now, some more new upcoming features may have possibly come to light as well.

In fact, this comes from datamining done by the very same Reddit user (temporyal) who shed light on the aforementioned content. Apparently, Battlefield 5 will be getting a new tutorial mode soon, called “Basic Training”, which will bring new players up to speed on how to play Conquest matches. The mode will be narrated by Lars Gustavsson, who’s a producer at DICE.

Also part of the leak are two new maps that are allegedly coming to the game, with one set in the beachside location of Mercury, and the other in the hilly region of Marita, with names of locations within these maps also having come to light (though which of the two maps each of these locations belongs to is anyone’s best guess).

These files being found in Battlefield 5 doesn’t necessarily cement an announcement for the content in question in the near future, but DICE has worked on it at least in some capacity- and an announcement might just be in the pipeline. Either way, stay tuned for more updates on the same. Battlefield 5 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
