Visceral Games has been taking no chances with the upcoming Battlefield: Hardline, the next iteration in the FPS franchise which deals with cops vs. robbers instead of typical military operations. Along with having two beta tests and a delay from October 2014 to March 2015, the developer has been garnering extensive feedback from fans. That being said, it may be taking a conservative approach with the graphics on current generation consoles.
Announced via its official Twitter, Visceral has confirmed that the Xbox One version of Battlefield: Hardline will run at 720p resolution. The PS4 version will run at 900p resolution. This of course comes off a prior announcement that the PC version will run at 1080p resolution with various graphical options.
Given the controversy surrounding resolutions for games, especially on current gen, it remains to be seen how this influence sales on the various platforms. Battlefield: Hardline is out on March 17th in North America and March 19th in Europe so stay tuned for more details.
