Bayonetta 3 Development is “Going Fine,” Hideki Kamiya Ensures Yet Again

It's only the umpteenth time he's said that.

Hideki Kamiya must be tired of saying this. We’re tired of talking about it. You must surely be tired of reading about it. But here we are yet again. Since its announcement in 2017, concrete updates on Bayonetta 3 have been few and far in between, but PlatinumGames themselves have given multiple assurances over the years that the action game’s development is going fine.

And we’ve recently had a repeat of that. Speaking in an interview with GameXplain (which you can view in its entirety below), when asked about Bayonetta 3 and how it’s development is progressing, Kamiya said that it’s “going well”- and again, this is far from the first time he’s said that.

Interestingly enough, when asked about how COVID-19 has affected PlatinumGames and the development of future projects, studio head Atsushi Inaba said that the studio is working from home and adapting to its new challenges.

“We’re working from home, we’re trying to do what we can to get to kind of work with this new work style,” he said (transcribed by Nintendo Life). “It’s still very early and I think that how well we’re able to adapt is really going to show how we can, you know – not with just this situation – but with any other situation to pop up, as a company it’s a challenge for us.”

A few months back, Kamiya gave assurances that Bayonetta 3 hasn’t been cancelled and that Platinum are still hard at work on the game. You can read more on that through here.
